Last week the Detroit Lions played the Green Bay Packers in a game FOX Sports broadcast to a pretty wide swath of the country. The Week 9 game drew top broadcasting team Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen, a nice step up for the Lions and their normal position at the bottom of the announcer pecking order.
In Week 10, the Lions slide back down the national interest level. Playing the Bears in Chicago in a game pitting two teams with five combined wins after nine weeks, it’s expected.
The Lions and Bears game is on FOX, but not in many markets. Detroit vs. Chicago is the early-afternoon game in the markets in blue on the map below (courtesy 506 Sports). It’s basically Michigan, Indiana and northern Illinois. Nearly all the nation will see Minnesota vs. Green Bay.
Behind the mics will be Kevin Kugler and Mark Sanchez, a duo the Lions haven’t seen yet in 2022.
