Brandon Starcevich's concussion will heighten debate around AFL players pushing opponents into marking contests, with the Brisbane Lions premiership defender to miss their season opener.

As with Sam Lalor's fractured jaw and concussion earlier this month, the league's match review has taken no action against Adelaide forward Dan Curtin for his role in the Starcevich incident.
