Antoine Green isn’t one of the bigger names at wide receiver in the 2023 NFL draft. The North Carolina Tarheel is hoping to raise that profile at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
Green, a two-year starter at UNC, is one of the players who has been confirmed to have met with the Detroit Lions here at the combine.
I asked Green during his podium interview if he had met with the Lions. He confirmed he did during this week and stated he thought it went well.
The 6-foot-2, 201-pounder (measured at the Shrine Bowl) is coming off a senior season where he caught 43 passes for 798 yards in the Tar Heels’ high-octane passing attack, led by top 2024 NFL QB draft prospect Drake Maye. He missed four games with a leg injury but did more than enough to receive a Shrine Bowl invitation, where he excelled despite shaky QB play.
Green said his favorite route is the post/corner option, but flattening it out to help create more space to run.
Green is generally projected in the sixth or seventh rounds of the draft.
