Lions receiver Jameson Williams frightened and fascinated fans on social media earlier this week with a bizarre fast-food combination for his after-practice meal.
The second-year wideout’s McDonald’s order of a McDouble burger and Oreo McFlurry wasn’t unusual. But Williams then pushed the boundaries of reality by dumping the McFlurry onto his cheeseburger and then taking a picture of the creation to share on Instagram.

While fast-food connoisseurs were still processing the unique combination, perhaps trying to comprehend the mix of savory and sweet with hot and cold, and whether or not they dared to try it themselves, Williams was asked about his creation by reporters covering the Lions. And the young pass-catcher doubled down on his choice.
“It was cool. It was good,” Williams said, per ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “I think y’all should try it. It’s called the Oreo McFlurry Double.”

“You know the McDonald’s McFlurry machine ain’t always working so you’ve gotta find one that’s working,” Williams added. “I went to the McDonald’s on Jefferson [Avenue], and it wasn’t working like the first two or three times, but the other day after practice, we watched film as a receiving group, and I just went up there and got it.”
Williams deftly avoided looking like a total food weirdo by sharing the relatable gripe of ice cream frequently being unavailable at McDonald’s due to malfunctioning machinery. Who hasn’t pulled up to the drive-thru with a craving only to be thwarted?
Perhaps an endorsement deal is in Williams’s future. The fast-good giant has shown a willingness to promote celebrity meals with pop musical acts such as Travis Scott, Saweetie, and Cardi B in recent years. Why not expand that into sports? Williams is shooting his shot (or throwing deep, to keep the metaphor football-related).
