It is finally draft season for Lions fans.
Brad Holmes and his front office have proven they are very capable of putting together great draft classes. They have had major hits on every day of the draft, but especially on Day Two. This roster isn’t in desperate need of much because of his work, but they do have some positions that need to be addressed.
This offseason, they should be focusing on getting better play out of their defensive backs, adding depth on the defensive line, and building out the wide receiver room.
These scouting reports should introduce you to some of the names that Lions fans could hear during the three days of the NFL Draft.

Traits and Skills
Tackling
Cole Bishop has the technique and strength to be a very reliable tackler at the next level. At Utah, it is all over his film that he flies around, makes plays on the ball, and hardly misses any tackles. Add that to a defense or special teams unit and watch it improve overnight.
Run Support
To provide run support you obviously have to be a great tackler but there is more to it. Bishop recognizes running lanes and is able to watch the runner’s eyes as to get in their path and create chaos. He especially does a great job of getting into the backfield and getting the ball carrier for a loss.
Play Recognition
You can tell Bishop is a big film guy as he is constantly positioning himself to make a play. Whether it is in the passing game or in run support, Bishop diagnosis plays extremely well and it allows him to disrupt the offense to gain an added advantage for his defense.
Fit within the Lions Roster
I am officially stamping Cole Bishop as a Dan Campbell guy. For the same reason, players like Malcolm Rodriguez and Alex Anzalone are fan favorites and favorites of this staff, Bishop would be in the same tier.
He plays like a bull running downhill, he creates chaos and is what this defense needs in the secondary. He elevates those around him by disrupting plays and creating game-changing plays. Get this man in a Detroit Lions uniform immediately.
