Lionesses legend Ellen White has given birth to her first child, just eight months after retiring from professional football.
The former England striker took to social media on Monday night to announce the arrival of her baby girl. White shared a sweet snap of husband Callum Convery carrying their newborn alongside a thank you message for her medical team at Tameside & Glossop IC NHS FT.
She wrote on Instagram : "Best daddy carrying our beautiful baby girl. We are so utterly besotted with you and you are so blinking cute.
"We are extremely grateful to all the professionals @tandgicft for your incredible support & dedication in helping with the safe arrival of our daughter."
A host of White's former teammates flooded the comments section with messages of congratulations.
Former England teammate Beth Mead wrote: "Can't believe it, she's perfect. Congrats to you both", while ex-Manchester City star Jill Scott added: "Awww congrats, so cute! Enjoy every minute."
White was an integral part of England's EURO 2022 winning squad and retired as the Lionesses' all-time leading goalscorer last August, having notched 52 goals in 113 appearances for the national side.
The 33-year-old also enjoyed a glittering club career, having won two WSL titles, three FA Cups and four league cups during her time at Arsenal and Manchester City.
White announced she was pregnant in December and was awarded an MBE in the 2023 New Year Honours for services to association football.
