Lionel Messi showed why he is still one of the world's best players after providing a "crazy" assist in Paris Saint-Germain's 1-0 win over Brest on Saturday afternoon.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner set-up Neymar for PSG's winner as Christophe Galtier's side moved back to the top of Ligue 1 following Lens' victory over Troyes on Friday. It was an important three points for the French giants as they continued their defence of the title, having picked up six wins from seven matches to date.
But it was a moment of brilliance from Messi that helped secure the victory. The Argentine jinked past a defender, before clipping the ball over the Brest defence towards Neymar, who brought the ball down superbly. The winger then took one touch before slamming the ball into the far corner with his left foot.
The goal screamed quality all-round as Messi notched his sixth assist of the season in just six matches. He has also chipped with in four goals in the process as Messi continues to defy the doubters after he struggled during his first season at the Parc de Princes.
In the first-half against Brest, Messi made four key passes, created two big chances and completed three long passes. This was including the assist he got for Neymar, who is also enjoying an excellent start to the campaign, having already scored 10 goals in all competitions.

Although Messi's pass was exquisite, nothing should be taken away from the finish and the first touch especially. Neymar, under extreme pressure from the Brest defender, showed composure and quality in front of goal, with the killer instinct to dispatch the shot into the bottom corner.
Despite that, Messi still received most of the praise from supporters on Twitter. One fan branded the assist "crazy", while others continued to call Messi the 'GOAT'.
A fan said: "That Messi assist is crazy."
Another added: "Ronaldo has literally never done this in his entire career, if you don’t believe Messi > Ronaldo, any opinion you have on football is invalid."
One supporter said: "There will never be another Lionel Messi. Never."
PSG will be looking to continue their 100 per cent start to their Champions League group stage campaign when they take on Maccabi Haifa on Wednesday. Galtier's men recorded an impressive 2-1 win over Juventus in their first European game of the season thanks to Kylian Mbappe's first-half brace.
