Line of Duty star Anna Maxwell Martin 'finds love' a year after husband's death

Anna Maxwell Martin has reportedly found a new boyfriend, a year after the death of her ex-husband.

The 45-year-old star of Line of Duty and comedy Motherland had been married to Notting Hill director Roger Michell for 18 years before she announced that they had separated in 2020.

They have two children together but a year later, Roger unfortunately passed away.

Fast forward 12 months and Anna, who played DCS Patricia Carmichael in the BBC hit drama, is reportedly back in love again and is said to be "happier than ever".

Anna met cameraman Rich Cornelius while she was filming police comedy Code 404 for Sky.

A source told The Sun : “Anna is smitten with Rich and is happier than ever.

“It’s early days but they’ve both fallen hard. All her friends are chuffed that she’s found love again.”

Anna could be back for another helping of Line of Duty despite it being said that the BBC cop drama had come to an end.

Martin Compston, who plays Steve Arnott in the series, has dropped a huge hint that there could be a seventh series after revealing that he had sat down with the show's writer Jed Mercurio recently.

The sixth season ended in May last year after the mysterious H was finally revealed - with the finale facing a lukewarm response from avid fans.

But viewers could be in luck as Martin teased the AC-12 could possibly be back on screens soon.

The 38-year-old actor told The Sun : "We sat down with Jed recently. We’ve always taken a year or two between series. This is no different.

"We won’t do it for the sake of it. We’ll do it if there’s something to tell," he added.

Martin's co-star Vicky McClure also hinted that the door wasn't closed on Line of Duty returning.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Vicky was asked whether there was another series in the works, Vicky said: “I’m telling the truth. Nothing planned and set in stone. Like Martin said before, we always have a long break in between series so it’s not really too abnormal to what we normally do.”

Martin added: “We’re chuffed that people still want us to come back. We’ve done 10 years now

“The fact that people still want to see the show is amazing and if there’s still a story to be told, I’m sure Jed will bring us back.”
