Line of Duty star Vicky McClure has revealed all the cast are "game" for a new series.
Fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting for the news that there will be a seventh season of the hugely popular BBC crime drama.
Despite the hugely successful series bringing in a whopping 15.24 million viewers, show writer Jed Mercurio is yet to confirm another series and previously confessed there was "no plan in place" for future episodes.
Vicky, who plays Kate Fleming, is remaining tight-lipped but reckons the chances are high of another run of the show, which is one of the most watched programmes in the UK.
Vicky told The Guardian: "There’s no word of it. I think we’ve all been really honest and said should that happen, we’re all game."
The 38-year-old, who is famously close to co stars including Scots actor Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar also said she "can't imagine" life without her colleagues.
The This is England star added:"It’s like, well, at least I get to be with my mates for four months of the year."
Vicky doesn't know if and when the hit BBC show will come to an end, however, revealing that when it does it'll be a "big blow" for everyone.
She said: "I’ll just stick with the guys. I think when it comes to a close, it will be a natural close for us all. And we’re very close with Jed, so it’s not a business transaction, do you know what I mean? This isn’t business, this is our lives and we’ve all created careers from it, and we’ve all got a lot out of it."
She added: "But, you know, everything comes to an end, and everything’s got a shelf life, so when that natural end is, is when it is. I’m just loyal to that. I can’t see me going” – and she puts on a posh voice – “‘I’m done, I’ve got a better job, I’m off’, because what’s better than Line of Duty?"
