Linda Nolan sends message as she's showered with support after sharing brain cancer diagnosis in Good Morning Britain interview

Linda Nolan was quick to send a public message after she was supported on Good Morning Britain as she detailed her brain cancer diagnosis. The singer was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2005 but got the all-clear in 2006. In 2017, cancer returned in her hip and spread to her liver in 2020.

And appearing on the ITV news programme on Monday (March 27), Linda shared how she discovered the cancer had spread to her brain after suffering three ‘quite nasty falls’, as the disease was affecting her balance.

Speaking to co-hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid live from Blackpool via video link, Linda, who has sold more than 30 million records with her sisters in the hit band The Nolans, shared the sad news that she has been told her cancer has spread to her brain. She said: "Unfortunately, sadly for me, my cancer has now spread to my brain, which I only found out on Monday."

She went on to say: "Obviously, it's very frightening because there isn't much help for brain cancer at the moment. Apart from radiotherapy, which I'm going to be having. There is a new drug that has been in use for a year for brain cancer.

"They're going to try me on that with some other treatment. I just wanted people to know that is the situation. I'm not giving up and I'm positive." Linda appeared on the show to be honest with fans after she was pictured leaving a hospital last week with her sister Maureen helping her into a car.

"It's a scary trip to be on," Linda admitted. "It's about making the most of every day and being positive. I've beaten it before so hopefully I can do it again."

Taking to Twitter after her live TV appearance, Linda shared: "Thank you to @susannareid100, @richardm56 and the @gmb team for the lovely interview. Thank you to everyone else for all the lovely messages. I couldn’t do it without your support." She added: "Next stop, radiotherapy tomorrow!"

And she was soon flooded with responses. @TaraHug64706321 said: "Linda sending you lots of love. Hope all goes well with your treatment you are a true fighter." @PaulphilipRobe1 replied: "Sending love and you've got this Blackpool loves you keep fighting." @MrPhilipBrown added: "Everyone’s behind you. You’ve got this! Sending so much love to you and the family."
