The Lincoln County Health Director issued a swimming advisory Monday afternoon after approximately 2,000 gallons of untreated wastewater leaked into an unnamed cove on Lake Norman at 8001 Shore Drive in Denver, North Carolina.
The advisory took effect at 3 p.m. Residents are advised not to swim or otherwise have bodily contact with the water in the affected area, which the health director says may be contaminated with fecal coliform.
