Lima's Costa Verde Faces New Safety Concerns After Fire Exposes Deteriorating Cliff Barriers

A blaze on the Costa Verde cliffs in Miraflores damaged roughly 500 meters of protective geomesh on Sunday, October 4, and pushed an old argument back into view: the netting that keeps loose rock off one of Lima's busiest coastal roads is costly to install, easy to burn and looked after by agencies that do not fully agree on who owns the job.
