Lil Wayne had a hilarious reaction to seeing a wax figure designed to look like him.
The renowned rapper didn’t feel like he was looking in the mirror when he saw his wax figure at the Hollywood Wax Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Rather than praise the artist’s ability to craft a statue identical to him, the 41-year-old took to social media, exposing what he really thought.
“Sorry wax museum, but that s**t ain’t me! You tried though and I appreciate the effort,” Lil Wayne wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on 23 October.
Despite Lil Wayne’s recent reaction to his wax figure, the model has been on display since 2022. However, one video posted to TikTok in the summer of last year has recently resurfaced, with a surge in views.
In the video, the original poster is seen walking close to Lil Wayne’s figurine in the museum. “Lil Wayne?!? Look like Lil Cane,” @cunseedid’s caption read. Now, the video has reached over 189,000 views with an upwards of 300 comments.
“Like... they had the right idea, but the outcome,” one person wrote, while another said: “Did Wayne approve this cause nah.”
The “Lollipop” vocalist isn’t the only A-lister to comment on their wax statues this week. Dwayne Johnson confessed he’d contacted Grévin Museum in Paris about his wax figure, which was unveiled on 16 October.
After comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr quipped about Johnson’s model having way lighter skin than the actor, The Game Plan star reaffirmed his sentiments by reposting Jefferson Jr’s video.
“For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris, France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements - starting with my skin colour,” Johnson added.
“And next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop in and have a drink with myself,” he continued.
The Grévin Museum proceeded to issue a statement, apologising for their mistake.
“Dwayne Johnson is right and we noticed it and will obviously remedy it as quickly as possible and send him new photos once completed,” they said. “We are waiting for him when he will come to Paris and the Grévin Wax Museum to celebrate that with a cup of champagne.”
Additionally, Travis Barker spoke out about his newly finished wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas. His model was debuted on 22 October, making him the latest celebrity icon to get a figure designed after themselves.
The Blink-182 drummer posted a slew of photos on Instagram, encouraging fans to go check his wax replica out.
“Come say hi to my clone,” he wrote next to a video of him pretending to kiss the model.
