AS Monaco beat Olympique de Marseille 2–0 thanks to their new rising star, Paris Brunner. With this victory, Monaco (6 points) are the sole leaders of Ligue 1 after two matchdays.

In Spain, Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappé are racking up the wins. In England, Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick for Manchester United. In tennis, Luca Van Assche pulled off an upset at the US Open. Finally, the French basketball team are edging closer to qualifying for the World Cup.
