Greater Manchester has been hit with heavy rain and thunderstorms for a second day in a row.
Just before 5pm on Sunday evening (July 9), a roaring bellow of thunder could be heard from across the city-region. Residents in Tameside, Trafford, Bury, Stockport and South Manchester all reported thunder with some also experiencing lightning.
Videos sent into the M.E.N from Old Trafford, Bury and Didsbury showed the dramatic lightning the moment it struck. Photos also captured the lightning in Denton and Hillgate in Stockport, near Stockport County FC’s Edgeley Park arena.
