A LIGHT plane crash has sparked an emergency response at a Hunter airport on Thursday afternoon and landed one man in hospital.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were called just before 12pm on August 29 to reports of a possible small plane crash at Cessnock Airport.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said it was understood the small plane was attempting to land at the airport, at Pokolbin about seven kilometres from Cessnock, when it got into trouble.
The spokesperson said two people were on board the light aircraft at the time.
They confirmed paramedics had treated one man, believed to be aged in his 50s, for multiple minor injuries.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for treatment.
It's understood the other person on board did not require treatment by paramedics or further medical help.
Several NSW Ambulance resources and firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW formed part of the emergency response on Thursday afternoon.
