A warning has been issued to anyone going to the beach during the UK heatwave.

However, a lifeguard from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution urged beachgoers to be careful. Guy Addington told Good Morning Britain : "If you're planning a trip out to the coast and want to enjoy the seaside find yourself a lifeguarded beach.
"Look for the safety signs and, in particular, swim between the red and yellow flags. This is the area deemed as most suitable for swimming by the lifeguard.
"If you see somebody in difficulty or you get into difficulty then do not hesitate to call 999 and ask for the coastguard."
Guy was interviewed by Pip Thomson, who also warned people about the dangers of swimming in open water during the hot temperatures. She said: "So many people will be coming to glorious beaches like this but there are many hidden dangers lurking.
"What people don't realise is that this water can be very cold indeed. There's been pictures of people jumping off bridges into lakes, quarries and canals.
"We have already had two drownings this week and it is not very sensible. If you want to cool down, then putting your feet in a bucket of cold water is actually a lot safer than jumping into water."
