Residents at two of Manchester's prettiest streets have revealed what it is like to live there - with film crews, influences lining up for photos, and parking nightmares. Next to the city's well-known Northern Quarter lies the happening neighbourhood of Ancoats, with high-rise apartments and swanky restaurants.
It was once a thriving suburb home to steam-powered mills during the Industrial Revolution and while it has had a transformative makeover in years gone by, some rows of historic terraces remain - including Anita Street and George Leigh Street that run parallel - where it looks like you've stepped back in time.
The houses and tenements are still in their original condition and create an oasis of nostalgia for anyone passing through. On George Leigh Street, 10 of the 18 homes are still council-owned, while half of the 36 properties on Anita Street are run by the local authority.
