People living next to an ambulance station in Nottingham say life is 'quiet and safe', despite emergency vehicles coming and going 'all the time'. Residents close to Beechdale Ambulance Station, home to East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) said ambulances arrive even quicker than they expect.
One resident, Hassan Mohammad, a 32-year-old dad-of-four who lives in Beechdale Road, said the close proximity of the station made him and his family "feel safe". "There's police going in and out all the time, there's always blue lights - it makes you feel safe," he told Nottinghamshire Live.
"We've needed the ambulance a couple of times and they've come fairly quickly. We can't really go round and ask for an ambulance so we go through the normal processes, although we've not actually tried that." The technician added: "It's not noisy at all, it's quiet quiet in this area. You get used to it. I was a bit worried the first couple of weeks [after moving in] but then you get used to it."
