Liel Abada insists Celtic are determined to keep hold of the Premier Sports Cup.
The holders continue their defence of the trophy with a quarter-final clash against Motherwell on Wednesday night. Ange Postecoglou’s squad were lifted last season when they beat Hibs in the Hampden final to grab the first silverware of the manager’s reign. Abada is adamant Celtic do not want to let it go as they prepare to travel to Fir Park aiming for a spot in the last four of the competition.
Although Champions League group games and Premiership title battles have dominated the first section of the campaign, the Israeli says full attention is now fixed firmly on the tournament ahead of the showdown with the Steelmen. Abada said: “This is really important because in the cup, if you lose, you don’t get to keep playing. We need to give 100 per cent and be 100 per cent focused to do our job.
“Hopefully we will win and be in the next round because it is very important to keep the trophy.”
