Lidl brings back sell-out £50 air fryer that could save you £279 a year

Sales of air fryers are skyrocketing after shoppers have discovered they can save a small fortune on their energy bills, and Lidl have announced the return of its sell-out kitchen device that can save shoppers almost £300 a year on their bills.

Research by Utilita has shown that air fryers run at an average cost of £55.71 a year, while an electric cooker runs at £335.57 a year, making them a much cheaper and healthier option, since they also use less oil.

Lidl’s Silvercrest Air Fryer 2.2L will return to store shelves nationwide this Sunday, but shoppers will have to be quick, because once they’re gone, they’re gone.

It comes as sales of air fryers are up 3,000 per cent since this time last year, and up 2,000 per cent since the summer as many turn to the cheap-to-run alternative amid the cost of living crisis. Lidl’s version is one of the cheapest of its size on the market at just £49.99.

Shoppers looking for speed can use the Lidl air fryer to grill, bake, or fry a multitude of foods, with dinner on the table in a matter of minutes, as they often take less time to cook in an air fryer.

The kitchen device comes with and LED touch-screen display with eight preset programs, while the frying basket and pan feature a non-stick coating with removable stainless steel mesh for easy cleaning - not to mention the fact they’re dishwasher safe.

It’s also got built in timer for up to 60 minutes, and a quick start function, coming the a three-year warranty for peace of mind.

Lidl’s Silvercrest Air Fryer is available in stores nationwide from Sunday, November 13 whilst stocks last.

Last weekend, shoppers crashed the Aldi website after scrambling to try and get their hands on the new Ambiano dual air fryer , which rivals Ninja for a fraction of the price. Sunday morning saw the website crash as more than 187,000 people rushed to try and buy the affordable dupe.

Very have currently got this Daewoo 8L Dual Basket Air Fryer reduced from £129 to £94, saving shoppers a whopping £35 on the original price in an early Black Friday sale. It’s one of very few dual basket air fryers we’ve seen for under £100, making it a real steal.

Alternatively, at Argos , shoppers can find a Tower T17071 7L Vortx Vizion Air Fryer for £90 . While this one doesn’t offer the dual drawers, it does have a 7-litre capacity and a large viewing window to save time and energy in the kitchen, allowing you to check if dinner's ready without even opening up the drawer.
