Liam Payne reportedly had multiple drugs in his system before his tragic death in Argentina last week.
According to partial autopsy reports acquired by ABC News the 31-year-old singer had a range of drugs in his system when he fell from the third-storey balcony of his Buenos Aries hotel. One of these substances was reportedly the recreational drug “pink cocaine” — a mixture of a series of drugs like methamphetamine, MDMA, ketamine, cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack.
After his death, searches of the former One Direction member’s room found drug paraphernalia.
Argentinian police are currently investigating two staff members at the Casa Sur Hotel in Palermo who have been accused of supplying the musician with hard drugs. Authorities allege that they smuggled the illegal substances into Payne’s room through a box of Dove soap.
According to a source who claims to be a close friend of Payne’s, one of these men has been reported to be a cleaner for the hotel.
Despite the drug use, Payne’s cause of death has been confirmed to be a result of the injuries he sustained from falling from the balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel. The singer is believed to have been in a state of “semi or total unconsciousness” when he fell.
“The prosecutor’s office indicated that, based on the position in which the body was found and the injuries from the fall, it is presumed that Payne did not adopt a reflexive posture to protect himself and may have fallen in a state of semi or total unconsciousness,” the report says, per Us Weekly.
“No injuries were observed that would suggest the involvement of third parties.”
According to ABC News’ sources, Payne’s body will stay in Argentina until the autopsy report is complete.
Liam Payne passed away on October 17. The news was a huge shock not only to his family and friends but his legions of fans.
