Liam Moore will referee the Super League Grand Final for the second consecutive season. The 27-year-old has been appointed lead match official for Saturday's showdown between reigning champions St Helens and Rohan Smith's Leeds Rhinos.
It marks the second occasion in as many years that Moore has been in charge at Old Trafford. He refereed his first Grand Final last October as the Saints won a third consecutive league title with victory over Catalans Dragons and just like Kristian Woolf's side, Moore will return to Old Trafford this weekend.
Moore has also had the distinction of refereeing back-to-back cup finals, taking charge of both the 2020 and 2021 finals at Wembley Stadium. He was, in the process, the youngest-ever man to take charge of a cup final when he was appointed for the game between Leeds and Salford Red Devils in 2020.

“It’s always an honour to be appointed for such a prestigious fixture,” he said.
Moore will be supported by senior match official Ben Thaler, who will take up the role of video referee. Jack Smith and Warren Turley will be the touch-judges which Chris Kendall will be the reserve referee.
Dean Bowmer is the reserve touch judge, Peter Taberner will be the Match Commissioner, and Dave Milburn the timekeeper.
