Liam Gallagher has locked heads with a Coronation Street star in a bizarre row after the actor criticised Oasis online.
The spat comes after the band, featuring Liam and brother Noel, made headlines over the weekend as fans scrambled for tickets to their newly announced tour.
It began when Charlie Lawson, who played Jim McDonald on the ITV soap, responded to a post on X which asked users if they thought the band was “overhyped” or “genuinely one of the best bands the world has ever seen”.
The actor, who is typically outspoken on social media, responsded to the post: “They are distinctly average.”
Liam then hit back at the dig, responding: “Just like your acting skills.” His jab has received over 26,000 likes at the time of writing.
Delighted fans waded in on the back-and-forth, with one fan telling Liam that he was “going for everyone today”.
He replied: “He’s had it coming for a long time silly old c***.”

When another social media user questioned the acting skills of Lawson, who joined the show alongside onscreen wife Beverley Callard in 1989, Gallagher responded: “Actor in his f***ing dreams.”
The spat came after Oasis sold out of their upcoming tour, which comes just two years after their iconic comeback series of shows in 2025.
Fans snapped up the tickets for all 42 shows - which include a run of 11 shows at Manchester's Etihad Stadium and finish with a six-night residency at Knebworth - across nine sales windows over three days.
Those who were successful in purchasing a ticket had to pre-register before being randomly selected to receive a unique non-transferable code to access an allocated on-sale window.
Taking to social media to announce the sale was over, Liam wrote: “That’s all folks we have officially sold out no more tickets left congratulations to everyone who got a ticket and to the people who didn’t sneak in f*** it yolo.”
