Liam Gallagher’s big unveiling of his new fashion collection didn’t quite go to plan with fans joking he looked like he was wearing a £400 “Lidl jacket”.
The Oasis singer, 52, could be seen posing in a trendy red, blue and yellow hooded coat for which he had teamed up with British outdoor clothing and equipment brand Berghaus.
While they claimed it was about “celebrating iconic reunions in 2024” with Gallagher saying he owned one of their jackets before finding fame back in the 90s, not everyone was on the same page.
Instead, all they could see was the fact they had used the colours made famous by the budget supermarket chain, with many rushing to the comments section to point this out.
"Collaboration with Lidl?" asked one person.
“Proper Lidl’s jacket that” agreed another.
"Lidl by lidl" put in a third, while another person declared: "If Lidl would open a store on top of Mont Blanc, this is what I would pull up with."
Gallagher’s deal with Berghaus is just one of a number of lucrative deals Oasis have scored since announcing plans to reunite for a tour next summer.
He, along with brother Noel – who formed Oasis together in the early ‘90s and split in 2009 following tensions – announced in August that they were putting their differences to embark on a string of live dates.
The Wonderwall hit-makers are set to perform across the UK, Ireland, Australia, the US and Mexico.
The news was met with “unprecedented” demand for tickets, however many were left fuming when they saw the eye-watering ticket prices.
Before tickets went on sale, fans were told seated tickets would start from £74 while standing would be priced between £148.50 and £151. After hours of queuing on the website, Ticketmaster ignited “dynamic pricing”. This resulted in the band facing a backlash from both their fans and the music industry, who branded them “greedy”.
