Liam Gallagher comments on Nottingham Forest win against Derby County

Musician Liam Gallagher has made a surprise comment about Nottingham Forest's 2-1 win over Derby County.

The Reds extended their unbeaten run over their local rivals to ten games with the excellent performance as goals from Lewis Grabban and Brennan Johnson secured the points.

Grabban showed instinctive finishing to latch onto a loose ball and fire beyond Ryan Allsop early in the second half before Johnson doubled the Reds' lead eight minutes from full-time.

There was still enough time for Tom Lawrence to pull a goal back for the visitors after he was brought down by Steve Cook in the penalty area, but Steve Cooper's side held on to secure all three points in-front of the Sky Sports cameras.

It was an East Midlands derby similar to many before as tension was high on the terraces and controversy spread throughout.

First Grabban avoided an early red card from referee Tim Robinson when he clashed with Liam Thompson; however, the Rams had Ravel Morrison sent for an early shower deep into stoppage time when he committed a hefty challenge on Philip Zinckernagel.

The strong tackle sparked a brief fracas between the two sets of players and supporters in the ground and watching at home loved the passion on show.

That included former Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher, who tweeted: "Gwan Forest n Derby with ya big bad selfs."

Speaking after the game, Rams boss Wayne Rooney said of the tackle: "I have not seen it back, and I might be proven wrong, I don't think it was a red card.

"I thought the referee, and I spoke to him at the end, calmly, I thought the game management from the referee was not good.

"I think he allowed them [Forest] to take too long on the free kicks they were getting towards the end and ultimately it killed the game off."
