Liam Gallagher branded 'hypocrite' as awkward post about ticket prices resurfaces

One of Liam Gallagher’s old social media posts about extortionate gig ticket prices has returned to haunt him as fans labelled him a “hypocrite”.

Fans of Britpop band Oasis felt like all their Christmases had come at once when they announced a 2025 reunion tour for next summer – until they saw the eye-watering ticket prices that is.

The Wonderwall hit-makers are set to play 17 dates across the UK and Ireland next year with tickets selling out on Saturday.

However, people using Ticketmaster to secure their spot were greeted with extortionate fees resulting in the band facing a backlash from both their fans and the music industry.

Before tickets went on sale, fans were told seated tickets would start from £74 while standing would be priced between £148.50 and £151. After hours of queuing on the website, Ticketmaster ignited “dynamic pricing”.

The market model also known as surge pricing, which inflates prices at peak demand, saw Oasis fans hurried into paying much more than they were expecting when standard tickets more than doubled from £148 to £355 on Ticketmaster.

Oasis have remained quiet so far on the furore, but it didn’t take long for an awkward post from Liam to resurface and soon go viral.

In a tweet on X from 2017, Liam wrote: "350 dollars to go and see rkid in USA what a c*** when will it all stop as you were LG x."

He was having a dig at his brother Noel for the prices on his American tour.

Oasis fans reacted in kind to the badly aged tweet, with one remarking: "Well this is evergreen."

While another fumed: "£380 for a "reactively priced" GA when people had spent 3 hours queuing. What sort of c*** would do that? As you were. BA x."
