LFC stars 'on set' as 'FIFA 23' advert filmed on Merseyside

Premier League players have been spotted on Merseyside as filming for a new advert reportedly got underway.

Premier League and Liverpool Football Club superstars were reported to have been on set for what the ECHO understands is an advert for EA Sport's new FIFA 23 game. Several locations in Wirral - including Birkenhead's Hamilton Square, and Argyle Street South have been overrun with crews producing and filming the advert, and today crowds of "Chelsea supporters" took to the streets.

Film crews told the ECHO Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk was on set this morning and others reported academy graduate Curtis Jones and Brazilian forward Robert Firmino were also on set. Rumours also spread that England International and Manchester City forward Jack Grealish had made an appearance yesterday.

Photos taken by ECHO photographer Iain Watts show crowds donned in Chelsea FC shirts marching through the Wirral landmark while the cameras were running. Filming has also reportedly taken place at a stadium nearby, though it is not certain if this was Anfield, Goodison Park or Prenton Park, home of Tranmere Rovers.
