These are the latest ECHO headlines this morning.

Liverpool FC fan who would do 'anything for family' found dead in Newsham Park

A grieving sister has paid tribute to her “loving” brother who was found dead in Newsham Park on April, 25.

Gary Scarth, 41, was found unconscious by a nurse on her way to work last Monday at 8am. She began to give him CPR while another walker spotted the two and immediately called 999. Gary was taken to hospital but was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.

The dad of five was a lively person who “loved his music, loved his life, loved his kids and loved his sisters".

Younger sister Georgia Ferguson told the ECHO: “We were always having a laugh, he was a very happy and loving person. He would do anything for his family and friends.

“Gary was a big Liverpool fan and when there were big games on we would always have parties at my house. He was loved by so many people and they are all welcome to attend his funeral when we get him home.”

As a tribute to Gary's life, Georgia decorated a section of Newsham Park with balloons, family photographs, flowers and a Liverpool FC banner. In his honour she also put up the words of the club's anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Stoned gun thug smashes stolen Range Rover through brick wall

A stoned gun thug smashed a stolen Range Rover through a brick wall and wrote off a woman's car.

Daniel Lawler, 19, joined 16-year-old gang boss Harry O'Brien in two "callous and cowardly" shootings on an electric bike. The pair fired into a family's occupied living room and shot into another victim's bedroom as part of a violent "feud" in Dingle.

Cannabis dealer O'Brien, now 17, of Buckland Street, Aigburth, also launched a third shooting and a firebombing on a mum's home. He was locked up for nine years and eight months.

Lawler, now 21, of Halewood Road, Woolton, was found guilty of being part of O'Brien's firearms plot. But he also admitted dangerous driving and handling stolen goods, the details of which the ECHO can now publish.

Liverpool Crown Court heard police in an unmarked vehicle spotted a black Range Rover, stationary at traffic lights on Green Lane, near West Derby Road in Tuebrook, at 1.40am on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. The Range Rover shot through red lights at speed.

Officers gave chase. The Range Rover accelerated towards a roundabout and turned left onto 20mph Lisburn Lane, where Lawler later confessed he was doing about 70mph.

Greggs, Lidl, Tesco, Sainsburys and Irn-Bru product recall warnings amid safety fears

A number of urgent product recalls have been issued with consumers urged to check their cupboards and not to use the items.

The warnings which have been collated by the Food Standards Agency includes Greggs Chicken Bakes, Lidl Czech lager, Tesco soup and Barr’s IRN-BRU. The Greggs alert says pieces of hard plastic could have contaminated the product, metal shards could be in the Tesco soup and the Irn-Bru bottle tops can fly off causing injury.

Greggs has issued an urgent recall on a popular product after it was found it could contain chunks of plastic. The popular bakery chain has warned customers not to eat chicken bakes sold in Iceland with a particular best before date.

Chicken bakes which have a September 19 best before date should not be eaten. There are fears the product - the pack containing two bakes which weighs 306g - could be contaminated with hard and dark pieces of plastic and therefore bring a choking risk.
