Lezyne launch new clearer, longer lasting, cooler looking MTB lights

Lezyne Mega Drive 1400+

Lezyne products already rank high on our best mountain bike lights listings but their new range promises even better performance. That makes it feel slightly less depressing to be talking about lights at the start of August but then again it was nearly pitch black on my local wooded singletrack at half past eight last night.

Lights to see with

Dark tech trails are exactly what the new Macro Drive 1400+ and Helmet Lite Drive 1200+ are designed for though. Both feature multi-LED arrays behind new optics to give rich context for reading surfaces. Quoted run times are impressive for compact lights at 3 and 2 hours at full beam respectively, helped by upsized batteries and reworked alloy casings for better cooling. Typically for Lezyne multiple mode options let you extend life up to 300 hours in ‘FEMTO’ flash mode. There’s no sign of custom mode management or a remote control function though.

However, all the new Lezyne lights feature waterproof USB-C charging ports and 3.0 or 2.0 amp spec fast-charging compatibility. GoPro adaptors can be used to augment the ‘universal’ rubber strap mount and pricing looks very competitive at £100 for the Macro Drive 1400+ and £85 for the Lite Drive 1200+.

There are several lower-powered front lights from 1000 - 300 Lumens max output that all have the same features as their bigger siblings in the line up too.

At the back, the very popular KTV Drive, Strip Drive and a bikepacking favourite strap or clip-on Zecto Drive lights are similarly upgraded with reworked casings and optics with bigger batteries making them more visible for longer. Waterproof USB-C charging ports on Strip Drive and bring them right up to date electrically while KTV lights plug in directly. Pricing ranges from £60 for the Strip Drive Pro Alert 400+ to £23 for the KTV Drive+.

All lights will be available in stores shortly but for full range information visit the Lezyne website.
