In Lexington, one of the areas hit hardest by the first round of high winds Tuesday morning was near Ashland, Henry Clay’s estate. Melanie Williams was getting ready for her work and her nine-year-old daughter, Adelay, was home for spring break. Adelay described what happened next.
“We were closing the windows, and then all of a sudden, the rain started pouring harder. And then the wind just blew really hard to kind of look like fog outside. And we just ran to the basement. And then when we came back up, we just saw a bunch of trees that fell over.”
