Lexington officials distribute emergency radios to residents in 1,100-plus mobile homes

The Fayette County Emergency Management Agency has been busy the last few months distributing all-hazard weather radios in an effort to reach every mobile home resident. Spokesman John Bobel said several years ago, they applied for a FEMA grant, then began searching for the location of every mobile home in the county.

“We were surprised to find out that there were over 1,100 mobile homes in Lexington. Over more than a dozen mobile home parks.”
