Lewis Ferguson admits getting released by Rangers may be one of the best things to have happened to him, even if it did burn at the time.
The midfielder is now shining in Serie A at Bologna after a great stint at Aberdeen. It's not all been this good for the Scotland international though, who was released by the club his dad Derek and uncle Barry served with distniction in his position. It didn't get him too down though as he moved to hometown club Hamilton and made his name before the Dons snapped him up.
Growing up as a Rangers fan, it was a bitter pill to swallow, but one that helped shape his career. In an enlightening chat with the Head It Podcast, Ferguson said: "I was there for four years and I loved it. Going in and training at Murray Park, the facilities are top notch. It's so good for young players.

"I absolotley loved it and I used to get day release from school, so on Thursday's I would miss that to go and train at Murray Park, which was brilliant. In the end, they thought I wasn't good enough, which is a fair enough
"It's a game of opinions. I was still young and still developing. I wasn't the tallest either at that age. They brought in a lot of new boys at U14s. They were physically strong and I was quite late developing.
"Then for six months I just couldn't get a game when I was 13 or 14. They ended up releasing me which was heartbreaking as I was a Rangers fan going into Murray Park all the time, had dreams of playing there.
"To have that setback at that age was tough. You never know what's going to happen but in hindsight, it's the best thing that could have happened to me with the track record Accies had of bringing through young boys."
