Lewis Capaldi unveils heartwarming music video for new single Pointless

Scots superstar Lewis Capaldi has today unveiled the heartfelt music video for his new single Pointless - and it's a real tearjerker. Taken from his brand new album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, the video for the piano-led ballad explores the touching relationship between a struggling single mother and her young son.

Painfully relatable at times, the beautifully cinematic video documents the love and unconditional bond between the pair, as they navigate their way through meandering moments of adolescence and adulthood.

We first see the pair sharing an embrace on Christmas Day, just the two of them. At various points where things seem to be getting too hard for the mum, her boy seems to be able to brighten her day.

We see several intimate moments between the mother and son, with a number of warm embraces. The video ends with the tearful mum giving another hug to her now-grown-up son, as he moves out of her home for the first time.

Lewis performed his latest release at this year's Strictly Come Dancing semi-finals show last Monday night, leaving viewers praising his "gorgeous" performance. The West Lothian crooner's recent comeback has seen him go from strength to strength, as he rocketed straight to the top of the UK singles chart in September with single Forget Me.

His third UK number one quickly became gold-certified and smashed 100million streams globally, making him the fifth artist this year to have a single go straight in at Number one in its first week - putting him in the company of Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Dave & Sam Smith.

Following the success his debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, all tickets for Capaldi's 13 UK and Ireland dates for his second record's tour are completely sold out.

Lewis Capaldi's studio album Broken from Desire To Be Heavenly Sent will be available to buy and stream from May 19, 2023 and can be pre-ordered here.
