Lewis Capaldi has taken aim at Michael Bublé as he claims Christmas hits are keeping his latest single off the top of the charts.
The Scots singer joked he's "looking for" the Canadian crooner because he's got a bone to pick with him for preventing him from bagging another number one with new single, Pointless.
Pointless is currently number one on the Big Top 40, which takes into account radio airplay, but only number 20 on the Official Singles Chart, behind Bublé at number 10 and Mariah Carey at number one.
Lewis, who co-wrote the tune with pal Ed Sheeran, admitted to fans he now believes December isn't the best time to release a song which is unrelated to the festive period.
And the Bruises singer, who was announced this week as a headliner for Reading & Leeds 2023, has had a tongue-in-cheek pop at the king of Christmas himself in the process.
Lewis, 26, said: "My a*** is being handed to me in the charts at the minute by Christmas music. Which I'm all for but if anyone sees Michael Bublé, tell him I'm looking for him."
Lewis was performing at Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball, when he made the comments.
The famously quick-witted star also had a joke at fans' expense, when he pretended he'd be joined on stage at the event by a special surprise guest, in the shape of pal Ed Sheeran, who co-wrote Pointless.
Lewis joked: "This next song we are going to sing is one that I only released last week, and I wrote it with a very dear friend of mine.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Ed Sheeran," while the audience erupted into applause believing that the Bad Habits singer was going to appear on stage, Capaldi then quipped: "He's not here. He's not coming.
"He's not here at all. He's too busy. I asked him, I said 'Ed please' and he said 'Who is this? Stop calling me', so that's unfortunate. So no Ed, but I did write it with Ed, Johnny McDaid and Steve Mac.
"It's out now. Go listen to it if you want."
Lewis will next be seen taking to our screens tonight (Monday) to perform Pointless for the first time on TV during the Strictly Come Dancing semi-finals results show.
Strictly airs tonight (Monday) at 8.15pm on BBC1 in a schedule change due to the World Cup.
