Lewis Capaldi reads out X-rated message to crowd after fan throws phone on stage

Lewis Capaldi left fans in stitches of laughter during a recent performance after a fan threw their phone on stage accompanied by an X-rated message.

The West Lothian superstar is embarking on his sold-out UK tour ahead of his second album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, which comes out in May. The 26-year-old recently performed to a sold-out show in Glasgow this week before heading straight back on the road.

Taking to the stage in Birmingham on Thursday, the Bruises singer belted out his hit songs and accompanied that with his usual comedic chat to the crowd. At one point, he paused the gig after an excited fan in the crowd threw their phone on stage accompanied by a rude message.

Bending down to pick up the phone, Lewis groans: "Right, f***ing hell." Before immediately shouting 'woah' once seeing the message written on the screen.

"I don't know if the camera can see what this says because I feel dirty reading it out." The crowd screams as the iPhone is shown on camera, with the message: "Can I s*** you off" typed out.

Asking someone in the crowd, he shouts: "Was this you?" Before continuing adding: "I mean this isn't really the time or place. And I've already been s***ed off today thank you very much."

Turning to his band, he says: "Isn't that right guys? Big hand for Aiden, come on baby."

"Yeah we stay s***ing each other off on this tour. This has taken a real f***ing smutty turn and I apologise."

Handing the phone back to the audience member, Lewis concludes: "This is your phone, you can have it back. Thanks for the offer."

The Someone You Loved hitmaker surprised fans on Wednesday night after taking to the stage in Newcastle as a special guest for TRNSMT headliners The 1975. The cheeky crooner introduced himself on stage as Harry Styles, before belting out hits from Taylor Swift and The 1975's self-titled album.

This comes after the star threatened he was going to 'fire' his bandmate Aiden after the musician started playing a football tune during the gig.

In a hilarious turn of events, the West Lothian superstar finished performing his ballad Bruises and confessed to the audience he wasn't even playing the piano. He said: "By the way, I'm not even f****g playing the piano. Aiden, play something. Give them something nice, look, watch this."

The pianist began playing the Celtic song much to Lewis' delight as he shouted: "No, noooooo, no. Aiden, I did not approve of that song."

The audience erupted into a huge cheer as Lewis continued: "Right. Relax here, everybody. Aiden's getting the f*****g sack tomorrow, nearly started a riot there. I told you, two cities, do not mention it in Glasgow. That's thrown a spanner in the works."
