Loved by the nation and adored by the world, our very own Lewis Capaldi reached top heights with debut album 'Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent', reaching number one in the UK charts.
Since his humble beginnings in West Lothian, the Scottish singer-songwriter has been on a hiatus of his own creation as he wanted to put his best foot forward with new music.
But, what has the star been up to in his time away from the live music scene? Find out more below:

Making rural roots
Capaldi used to reside between East Whitburn, West Lothian, and Bathgate during his childhood, after moving from Glasgow at the age of four.
He then moved back to the city into a flat when his album took off, but spent little time there as he was touring constantly.
And during his time away from the world, Lewis has moved into a farmhouse in East Renfrewshire, and has been upgrading it with modern amenities.
Speaking about his renovations to the Daily Record, Lewis said: "I'm getting a lot of work done to it just now. It's getting renovated, but I'm really enjoying living there."
Lewis is having a swimming pool, gym spa and sauna added to his home in East Renfrewshire alongside a media room, home cinema and expanded master bedroom as well as other bedrooms and a kitchen renovation.
Recording with the stars
Lewis has also been recording with some big names as he prepares his second album for release, which he is now at the point of being able to put out into the world.
Lewis added to his Daily Record interview: "I have been busy in the studio and everything is getting into a bit more shape.
"I can't wait to get the songs out now and release my new music. It's been a long wait for everyone."
The 25-year-old has been working on his album with One Republic star Ryan Tedder who has written hit ballads for Adele and Beyonce.
Bastille's Dan Smith also revealed that he has worked on Capaldi's newest songs with him, saying: "I did some writing with [Capaldi] and it was really great to see him.
“Obviously he has had the most amazing time and I think he is just taking his time writing lots of music and living his life.
“We f****** love Lewis and we’re so proud of everything he’s done all over the world. It’s exciting to see what he’s going to do next.”
Announcing the big one: TRNSMT
In 2021, Lewis Capaldi announced he would be taking a step back from live music to concentrate on recording new music, and cancelled a good shift of gigs - including TRNSMT.
Lewis had said he made the decision with a "heavy heart" but took the time to focus on making new music instead.
And now, the Someone You Loved singer will be headlining the Scottish festival in 2022, alongside fellow Scot Paolo Nutini - who has also been in hiding for a few years.
The pair will headline the Friday and Sunday of TRNSMT 2022, alongside a whole host of Scottish acts, including The Snuts and Luke LaVolpe - who are close pals with Capaldi and supported him at his Edinburgh Princes Street Gardens Summer Sessions gigs.
Everyone is excited to see the singer get back to doing what he does best, and we are sure his entrance at TRNSMT will be one for the ages - a perfect homecoming for the Scottish superstar!
