Lewis Capaldi announces Netflix documentary as West Lothian star goes back to his roots

West Lothian singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has announced that he will be releasing a brand new documentary on Netflix next month.

The show will follow Lewis as he deals with his global stardom and how it has changed things as he returns home to his friends and family. The documentary follows Lewis through his defining year, as he struggles to balance the normality of being at home with everything he has known, compared to his worldwide fame.

The star, who is extremely candid in his approach to fame, is set to reveal a deeply self-reflective version of himself as he carries the weight of overcoming his previous successes.

Lewis headed to social media to share the exciting news, writing on Twitter: "I've made a NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY!!! it’s called ‘How I’m Feeling Now’ and comes out [worldwide] on April 5th!

"Pretty terrified for everyone to see this if I’m quite honest, but I’m so so proud of it."

In the clip announcing the show, Lewis dresses up as some of Netflix's biggest original series, including Money Heist, Wednesday and Bridgerton.

He then finishes dressed as himself, and does an excited dance, telling fans when the documentary comes out, and that he "hopes you enjoy it".

The exciting documentary arrives ahead of his highly anticipated second album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, out May 19.

Sam Bridger, Head of Music Film at Pulse Films said: "This started out as a film about the process of creating the ‘difficult second album’, but ended up being an astonishingly unguarded portrait of the pressures of fame on young shoulders, exploring one of the great conversations of our age - mental health.

"Such unfiltered access to one of the biggest stars on the planet is testament to the bravery of Lewis and his team who invited us into their world, and the incredible trust and storytelling instincts of Director Joe Pearlman, Producer Alice Rhodes and the production team."

Stuart Souter, BMG Vice President Films said: “This is much more than just a music film. With the support of his family, Lewis has opened up in a unique way.

"Just like his music, we are confident that it will connect with people around the world”.

Lewis Capaldi's documentary, How I'm Feeling Now, will be released on Netflix on April 5, 2023.
