Leeds United loanee Lewis Bate has spoken about how his playing role changed after moving to Elland Road compared to when he was playing for Chelsea.
The 20-year-old spent 10 years in the Chelsea academy at Cobham before moving to the Whites in 2021 after rejecting a contract offer to stay at Stamford Bridge.
At the start of the season, he was sent to Oxford United where he's managed 28 appearances so far this season, providing four assists along the way.

However, their 1-0 loss to Shrewsbury over the weekend was their fourth consecutive loss in League One, but Bate has still been a standout performer despite the poor form of the team overall.
One positive to come from the loss to Shrewsbury was Bate's efforts, especially when paired with Marcus McGuane in midfield after Cameron Brannagan missed the match due to a hip injury.
Despite playing out of position, Bate excelled in a deep role than what he's used to playing under Karl Robinson this season and allowed McGuane to push further up.
"Losing Cam’s a massive miss, Bate told the Witney Gazette. "We’re a big enough squad to play without him but he’s a massive part of this squad.
"With Marcus McGuane going higher, I thought he was outstanding. It was a swapped role for both of us, I enjoyed it but I want to give credit to Marcus because he played very well.
"For the last four years at Chelsea, I played in that role just in front of the back four and then I went to Leeds, and I changed a bit and had to adapt.
"I enjoy playing there but as long as I’m playing, I’m happy."
