Daniel Levy’s decision to sack Antonio Conte has been backed by an overwhelming majority of Tottenham fans.
The announcement of Conte’s departure came at a slightly unusual hour, with the statement put out late on Sunday night. However, it certainly wasn’t a case of hiding bad news, with the Italian's exit gaining the support of 83% of Spurs fans who responded to our football.london poll.
Fans are much less united, though, when it comes to whether the club are right to wait until the summer to appoint a permanent replacement.

Cristian Stellini has been handed the reins for the final 10 games of the campaign but 43% of respondents believe a permanent replacement should have been appointed before the end of the current campaign.
Who that should be is also a subject that has split supporters. Eight names were offered up with two clear favourites emerging. Julian Nagelsmann, fresh from his departure from Bayern Munich, has garnered 40% of the votes so far, with Mauricio Pochettino just ahead of him on 42%.
Whoever takes over will most likely be embarking on a European campaign in their first season, but the exact nature of the competition is also something Spurs fans cannot agree on.
Asked where Spurs will finish the season, 32% believe it will be inside the top four. A similar figure (31%) think Tottenham will finish the campaign in fifth, with 30% opting for sixth. And just to show pessimism is never truly that far away when supporting the club, 7% think they will end the season seventh or lower.
Interestingly, considering the constant rumours surrounding his commitment to the Spurs role, 40% of fans said the duration of his spell was “about what I expected” - by far the largest percentage in this category.
Those pessimists were out again for this question, however, with 6% not expecting Conte to get anywhere close to 17 months when he was appointed in November 2021.
