Levi Davis' mum issues TV plea for missing son amid fears he has 'deteriorated'

The mother of missing X Factor singer and rugby star Levi Davis has described her last contact with her son and her fears he has ‘deteriorated’.

The 24-year-old left his friend in Ibiza to travel to Barcelona alone, Julie Davis told Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls on Tuesday morning.

The mother of the athlete said she last heard from Levi on October 29, which was also when he filmed a video from The Old Irish Pub in Barcelona, near the tourist hotspot La Rambla.

Good Morning Britain host Susanna asked Julie about his state of mind when he left to travel to Europe.

Julie explained that prior to his trip, Levi had said he needed to ‘go on a break’ in the wake of an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his knee.

She said: “Levi said, ‘I need to just sort my head out and have some time to refresh myself’.

“He had recently had an ACL injury and he thought that was a good time for him to go.”

She went on to express her fears the break would affect his career before adding: “For him it was going from doing something to suddenly not doing a lot.”

Susanna asked Julie what she thought Levi might be doing now, to which she said: “I think given the state he was in, I think he’s probably deteriorated.

“The fact he would normally be in touch with me on a day to day basis or his friends makes it even more concerning.”

Julie said she is set to travel to Barcelona with friends and family in the hopes of finding her son.

His close friend Richard Squire, who lives in Ibiza, said the singer told him he was going to see friends and left abruptly with only a small black backpack.

Levi, who has also starred on X-Factor: Celebrity and Celebs Go Dating, has been missing for nine days.

And In 2019, the sports star performed on X Factor : Celebrity with fellow rugby lads Ben Foden and Thom Evans as Try Star.
