Levi Colwill has given his approval to Chelsea's decision to hire Graham Potter as head coach and wishes the former Brighton boss well at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues loanee joined the Seagulls on a season-long loan this summer, and has made three appearances for the south coast club before being present with a new manager of his own to impress in the form of Roberto De Zerbi.
Colwill started just once under Potter, in the Carabao Cup against Forest Green, but the new Chelsea coach nevertheless appears to have left a positive impression on the 19-year-old defender. While Potter was sure to be a draw for any loan, Colwill does not begrudge the 47-year-old his move to west London.

The former Huddersfield Town loanee garnered quite the first impression of Potter and believes his standards are of the highest level.
Colwill, currently on international duty with England under-21s, said: "It's life, it's football. If a player gets an offer from a team that is also in the Champions League, that's in Europe, they're going to think about it. Graham took his opportunity to take it, so I can't do anything about that, just wish him well.
"You could tell straightaway from day one, he's such a big person to be around in terms of the team, everyone respects him for what he does on and off the pitch and you could tell his levels were the highest they could be. I can understand why Chelsea have gone for him."
While it remains to be seen whether Colwill can impress De Zerbi, upon his signing in August, it was clear that Potter already had a high opinion of the Chelsea youngster. With Colwill highly regarded, and a contract lasting until 2025 it appears likely he will work with Potter once again, with the new Blues boss already casting his view on the Cobham product's best role.
Earlier this season Potter said: “Levi has enormous potential and has already shown his ability last season in the Championship and with England at various age group levels up to under-21s.
“I am really looking forward to working with him on the training pitch, and in matches over the course of the season. He plays mostly at centre-back, but has also played on the left as a full-back, and he is a player who is comfortable on the ball.”
Nevertheless, Colwill is not yet focused on his Chelsea chance, even with Potter's transition. The central defender is simply focused on improving himself at Brighton for the moment. When asked about his Chelsea return he said: "To be honest I haven't even thought about that. I can't really think about what is going to happen in the future, I'm focused on Brighton and that's the only thing I can be."
