Let us know if you think Boris Johnson should resign

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has faced increasing pressure this week following the release of the Sue Gray report on Wednesday.

The report looked into the lockdown parties which took place in Downing Street during the pandemic, and took aim at the leadership which allowed the gatherings to take place.

A YouGov poll found that 59% of people felt that Johnson should resign and with the PM under arguably more pressure than ever, we want to know what your thoughts are on the scandal.

Nine photos have been released as part of the report, showing Johnson celebrating with alcohol for both a birthday celebration in June 2020 and the leaving-do for former aide Lee Cain in November 2020.

Ms Gray condemned the actions in the report, saying: "“The senior leadership at the centre, both political and official, must bear responsibility for this culture."

Poor treatment of support staff was also highlighted, with Ms Gray saying there were “multiple examples of a lack of respect and poor treatment of security and cleaning staff."

Downing Street insiders also told BBC Panaroma that Johnson had a hand in condoning the parties by 'grabbing glass for himself'.

Despite apologising, the PM has so far resisted calls to resign, and defended his attendance at the parties as 'part of my job'.

Do you think Boris Johnson must now resign? Or would you be happy for him to remain in office? Let us know in the comments section.
