Leslie Odom Jr is set to reprise his role as Hamilton’s Aaron Burr – and this time around, theatre fans in London will get to be in the room where it happens.
Odom Jr, who originated the role when the Broadway production opened in 2015, will once again play Alexander Hamilton’s frenemy in a strictly limited nine-week run in the capital.
The 44-year-old star – who won a Tony Award for the role – will make his West End debut appearing alongside the London cast at the Victoria Palace Theatre from 3 July to 5 September 2026.
Odom Jr, who also reprised the role for a limited run on Broadway last year, said in a statement: “Returning to Hamilton and revisiting the role of Aaron Burr with the growth and perspective of time has been a profoundly healing artistic experience. I am having so much fun!
“The London production will grant me a few more glorious weeks to share Lin-Manuel [Miranda]’s music with an international audience who, I have learned, love this show as much, if not more, than I. I’m crossing the ocean and I just can’t wait.”

Public booking for Odom Jr’s return will open on Friday 13 March at 11am, but fans can sign up on the Hamilton website to access priority booking 24 hours earlier.
Hailing Odom Jr’s portrayal of Burr as “electric”, Cameron Mackintosh said: “I’m absolutely thrilled that London will now be able to share the experience of Leslie for a short season, joining the brilliant new cast we have playing this revolutionary musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre.”
The London cast of Hamilton is currently led by Alex Sawyer as Hamilton, with Jay Perry as Burr, while Bente Mulan and Emily-Mae play Hamilton’s wife, Eliza, and sister-in-law Angelica Schuyler, respectively.

George Washington is played by Jonathan Andrew Hume and Daniel Boys stars as King George III.
Hamilton premiered off-Broadway to huge critical acclaim in 2015. When it transferred to Broadway a year later, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical landed a record-breaking 16 nominations.
Its 11 wins included Best Musical, Best Score and Best Actor in a Musical for Odom Jr – who beat the production’s creator and lead star to the accolade.
The cast also won a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album and Miranda was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for penning the show. A filmed version of the Broadway production was released on Disney+ in 2020.
