Leona Maguire is back in contention at the 2022 Pelican Women's Championship in Florida after a second round 64 saw her ascend up the leaderboard and into contention.
After Tropical Storm Nicole made its mark on the Pelican Golf Club course in Belleair, Florida, the decision was made to delay the opening round until Friday and shorten the tournament to 54 holes.
And it didn't look overly promising on day one for Maguire as she finished up one over par in a round that was marred by a double bogey at the second as well as a bogey on 10.

However, the Cavan native regrouped for day two and her second round was a festival of birdies.
The first two holes produced the first pair of those, and from the seventh onwards she produced a further three birdies on the bounce.
Maguire parred the 10th and the 11th holes and after the latter she was -6 through 11 for a share of fifth place.
A double bogey came at 12 but she stuck to her task and further birdies followed at the 14th and the last to send her to the clubhouse just outside the top 10 amongst a host of stars fluctuating in position as others finished their rounds.
The final round will commence at 12 midday Irish time on Sunday.
