Ally McCoist believes Rangers should consider putting Leon King out on loan.
Michael Beale has Connor Goldson, Ben Davies and John Souttar at his disposal in the heart of the Light Blues defence but the latter has only recently regained full fitness after an injury-hit first campaign in Glasgow. He's impressed since coming back into the team and scored in the 3-0 derby win over Celtic at Ibrox recently.
However, club hero McCoist isn't so sure his old club can rely on the Scotland international for fitness over an extended time - and that brings his thinking in with regards to King. He also believes Beale will need to add further competition in that area of the park this summer. Goldson faces ten weeks out and a Champions League sweat. He's had injury issues this campaign as has Davies.

King partnered Souttar in the win over Hibs at Easter Road last weekend and he could land further minutes in the final two games of the season against Hearts and St Mirren.
On the defender, McCoist told BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra : "If I was Rangers and Michael Beale, if I wasn't concerned about John Souttar's fitness I would be cool about it and I probably would keep Leon King there.
"But I'm not sure unfortunately for John Souttar that Rangers can rely on his fitness, sadly. And I think Rangers will need to get a centre back.
"That being the case, I think I'd put Leon King out six months somewhere and get him experience."
