Leon Balogun has bid farewell to QPR amid speculation that he could return to Rangers.
The central defender exited Ibrox last summer and spent the season in London, partly with Michael Beale.
But now upon the expiry of his contract he has left the club and reports have suggested that he could return to Glasgow.
Rangers are looking to strengthen their defensive options after the news that Leon King has been ruled out for a period due to an ankle injury.
The club have announced the 19-year-old will be sidelined for a “significant period of time” after sustaining a blow during a pre-season camp in Germany.
Rangers begin their Premiership campaign away at Kilmarnock on August 5.
A club statement read: “Rangers FC can confirm defender Leon King suffered a contact injury to his ankle at the club’s pre-season training camp in Germany on Monday which will rule him out for a significant period of time.
“Leon is being looked after by the club’s medical staff and a further update will follow in due course. Everyone at the club wishes Leon a speedy recovery.”
On Twitter today, Balogun wrote: "Thank you to everyone at QPR - the staff, the players and you the supporters.
"Despite everything that has happened throughout this very difficult season, I've really enjoyed my time at the club.
"I'm wishing you nothing but the best for the future you Rsss."
