Leigh Wood faces a huge challenge to his WBA featherweight title, with Mauricio Lara travelling to Nottingham this week for a massive fight.
Lara is one of the most dangerous men in the featherweight division at just 24-years-old and Wood will face one of the toughest tests of his career. However, with Wood facing the third defence of his world title, Lara will be equally wary ahead of what will be a fascinating contest.
The fight in Nottingham has similarities to Lara's last UK fight, with the Mexican making his way to the UK to face an opponent who will be backed by a passionate home crowd. In 2021, Lara beat the Leeds Warrior, Josh Warrington, in London before they faced a rematch in his hometown of Leeds which was drawn after Lara suffered an early cut to the head.
