Leigh-Anne Pinnock records with Jesy Nelson's Boyz producers despite blackfish row

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who accused Jesy Nelson of 'Blackfishing' in her Boyz music video, has been in the studio with two of the song's producers.

The 30-year-old Little Mix singer shared a snap on TikTok of her sat around a table with Dyo and aB.

She captioned the video "Studio VYBEZZZZ with these queens," with a pen and paper emoji, hinting that they were writing songs together.

This comes after mum-of-two Leigh-Anne called Jesy a "blackfish" in leaked Instagram messages.

Last year she encouraged influencer No Hun to call Jesy out for "being a blackfish", before revealing that she had cut the three of them off.

In an interview with The Telegraph's Stella Magazine in November 2021, Leigh-Anne said: "We don’t want to talk about the video, or be critical, but one thing we will clarify regarding the blackfishing situation is that Jesy was approached by the group in a very friendly, educational manner."

Jade Thirlwall added that: “capitalizing on aspects of Blackness without having to endure the daily realities of the Black experience is problematic and harmful to people of color.”

She added that: “We think it’s absolutely not OK to use harmful stereotypes. There’s so much to say on that subject that it’s hard to sum up in a sound bite.”

Jesy spoke to Vulture about the single she released with Nicki Minaj in October last year and said: "I love Black culture. I love Black music. That’s all I know; it’s what I grew up on. I’m very aware that I’m a white British woman; I’ve never said that I wasn’t.”

Jesy left Little Mix to focus on her solo career after struggling to be in the girl band, calling her experience "miserable".

She told Cosmopolitan UK last year that she "constantly compared herself to the others" and said that she was battling with her mental health.

"It’s horrible when you already don’t like something about yourself to then have thousands of people point it out. Now I feel like me. When I look back [at my time] in the band, I genuinely wasn’t me. I can’t believe how miserable I was,” she admitted.

“I didn’t know that I could be this happy,” Jesy also said. “I thought when I was in the group that it was just normal to feel that way. And because I’d felt like that for 10 years, I just thought, ‘This is life.’

"Since I’ve left, I feel free. I don’t wake up with anxiety, thinking, ‘I’ve got to do a music video today, I need to starve myself.’ Or, ‘I need to go on an extreme diet so I can look like the other three.’ That was consuming me.”

Jade Thirlwall was accused of throwing shade at Jesy during an appearance on Drag Race vs the World earlier this month.

She helped the queens when they were recording individual verses in the previous episode ahead of their performance.

When RuPaul asked Jade: “How did recording with the queens compare to recording with Little Mix?”

She replied: “Oh it’s just the same really,” replied the singer. “I bossed everyone around and there’s an ugly rumour going around that one of the girls is leaving the group tonight.”
