Leicester Vs Brighton Highlights As Foxes Make Late Comeback

Watch Leicester Vs Brighton highlights as the Foxes produced an incredible comeback to snatch a late draw against Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday.

Leicester City trailed by two goals with less than five minutes of normal time remaining, but scored twice in the dying minutes to rescue an unlikely point.

Brighton looked in full control after Tariq Lamptey and Yankuba Minteh had put them two up with ten minutes to play.

But skipper Jamie Vardy pulled one back in the 86th minute, before Bobby De Cordova-Reid came off the bench to grab a stoppage-time equaliser and send the home fans wild.

The draw maintains new Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy’s unbeaten start at the King Power Stadium.

Things started poorly for the hosts, though. Lamptey’s curling finish put Fabian Hurzeler’s visiting Seagulls ahead after 37 minutes.

Minteh then doubled their advantage in the 79th minute, with the substitute firing home Brighton’s second after a superb run.

But Leicester never know when they’re beaten. Veteran and club legend Vardy met James Justin’s cross to slot past Bart Verbruggen and give the hosts hope.

The 37-year-old then turned provider as he delivered a perfect pass for De Cordova-Reid, who tapped home an equaliser in added time to bring Leicester level and the stadium into delirium.

Brighton Boss Rues Missed Chances

Speaking after the game, Brighton manager Fabain Hurzeler said his side should have put the game to bed earlier on.

He told BBC Match of the Day: “How can you explain that? It’s just football sometimes. We have to learn from it because we have experienced it this season.

“We need to be more mature and finish off the games. You can’t explain it sometimes, but we can also see it as an opportunity to show character.

“We had enough chances to lead more – we have to be really careful talking about the performance. We have to trust the process and we will reflect this and look at the positives. A big part is game management. We have to improve.

“No excuse. It’s our fault and we have to take responsibility. I’m not a guy who will find excuses.”

The result sees Leicester City climb back above Crystal Palace into 16th place in the Premier League table.

Kieran McKenna’s Foxes are five points clear of the bottom three thanks to Ipswich’s loss to Bournemouth.

Brighton, meanwhile, missed the opportunity to move back into fifth place.

They are now seventh, level with Bournemouth and three points below Manchester City in fourth.

Next up, Leicester travel to Newcastle on Saturday, while Brighton host Crystal Palace next Sunday.
